Your notes are yours. We do not sell your data, and we never will. AnnoTag makes money from subscriptions, not from your information.

AnnoTag ("AnnoTag," "we," "us") is a browser extension and website that lets you leave notes ("tags") on web pages and find them again. This policy explains what we collect, why, and the choices you have.

What we collect

Account information. When you sign in with Google, we receive your name and email address from Google. We never see or store your Google password.
Your tags. For each note you create, we store the text you write, the address (URL) and title of the page you tagged, the note's position on that page, and timestamps.
Operational data. Basic technical information needed to run and secure the service, such as server logs.

What we do not collect

We do not track your general browsing. We only store the pages you explicitly choose to tag.
We do not read or store page content beyond the page's address and title.
We do not collect your Google password or your contacts.

How we use your data

To provide the service: saving your tags and syncing them across your devices.
To operate, secure, and improve AnnoTag.
To contact you about your account or important service changes.

How we share your data

We do not sell your data and do not share it for advertising.
We share data only with the infrastructure providers that host and store it on our behalf (for example, our hosting and database provider), under agreements that require them to protect it.
We may disclose data if required by law or to protect the safety and rights of our users and AnnoTag.

Storage and security

Your data is stored on secured servers and transmitted over encrypted connections (HTTPS). We limit access to your data to what is needed to operate the service. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable measures to protect your information.

Your choices and rights

Access & export: you can view and export your tags at any time.
Delete: you can delete individual tags, or delete your account to remove your data.
Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights (such as under GDPR or CCPA). Contact us to exercise them.

Data retention

We keep your tags until you delete them or close your account. When you delete your account, we remove your tags and account information from our active systems.

Children

AnnoTag is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their data.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We will post the new version here and update the date above.
